Description

“Rocinante” is the pet name I gave to the bicycle I had rented in Paris, April 2002, for the Paris by Bike series. The man at the bike shop was recommending newer models, but I insisted on that well-used Peugeot.  It rattled like crazy over the cobblestones but it was otherwise a faithful companion. I even thwarted off attempts of two separate bicycle thieves!  Funny thing, I was sad the day I returned Rocinante; it felt as though I was abandoning an old friend.  I wonder whatever happened to Rocinante? Hopefully a happy retirement in Giverny!
